WORK EXPERIENCE


2001-2003: Associate Professor, in the Social Sciences and International Communications Department, American University in Paris, France. Have taught courses in Intercultural Communication, Political Anthropology, Social Anthropology and Communication and Society. Experience based teaching.

Feb 2001: Field Evaluation Officer for ATLAS Logistique (NGO) Gujurat, India
Conducted an evaluation of the earthquake (26/01/01) in Kutch, Gujarate for a French NGO involved in the coordination of logistic emergency help.

2000-2001: Program Director and Training Coordinator for Congé Solidaire (NGO), Paris, France. Congé Solidaireis is a NGO whose mission is to involve the business community in development issues through the participation of company employees. Responsabilities included: Managing projects in Tanzania, Djibouti and Kosovo.

in the field

1991-1997: Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant, University of Linköping, Sweden
Grant funded research on the tranfer and adaptation of technology in West Africa.
Extensive field work conducted in Mali, Ghana and Burkina Faso using qualitative, PRA and quantative methods. Coordinated and organised conferences, worked on several exhibitions and published texts

1991: Information and campaign coordinator for the Linköping branch of the Swedish Green Party. Parliamentary elections of 1991

1989 – 1990
: Associate Expert in Sociology. Silvi Nova (Swedish development consultancy agency specialised in reforestation), Bakel, Senegal

Under the directive of the United Nations Sahelian Office, I worked on a reforestation project in the north eastern region of Senegal. Activities included reforestation, soil conservation, and small scale gardening. Responsibilities :
-The management of a team of development workers
-The development and production of didactic material
-The coordination and organisation of the improved cooking stove program
-Conducting studies and evaluations of project activities

1986 – 1987: Office manager for Equipy Insitute (10 hous /week), Amherst MA, USA
Helped run the office for an institute concerned with various forms of discrimination (racism, sexism and homophobia) in educational structures and business corporations

- Board of Directors of Congé Solidaire (NGO) France 2003. Responsible for the evaluations and studies conducted regarding the NGO as well as the development of the intercultural training curriculum.
- Info Birmanie, France. Member of this NGO in France since 2000. Translated textes
- Family day care center « Les P’tits Loups » 2000. and 2003. Member of an association that runs a day care center for 13 children. Responsibilities : Admissions and administration
- The Africa groups of Sweden (Agis) Member of this NGO in 1986 and 1988. Involved in numerous campaigns to raise money and bring attention to the situation in South Africa, Namibia and the former Portuguese colonies
- Fröet – Organic Food Cooperative Member of an organic food cooperative 1991-1993. Helped with the planning and the management of the store
- South Africa Coalition. Co-founder of a student organisation at Amherst College. Initiated a campaing to collect clothing and books for ANC schools. Organised a consert to collect funds. 1987
- Womenspeak . Coordinator for a cultural and academic organisation at Amherst College concerned with women in society. 1986-1987
