APPEL À COMMUNICATION
Le CFE organise à Paris en novembre 2009 un colloque international pour rendre hommage aux travaux scientifiques et à l’oeuvre cinématographique de son fondateur et animateur Jean Rouch. Notre propos sera de rendre compte des recherches qui se sont poursuivies dans les domaines des langages imagétiques pour l'anthropologie dont Jean Rouch a été le premier ou l'un des premiers explorateurs. Cet appel s'adresse à tous ceux, cinéastes, critiques, enseignants, chercheurs et étudiants qui se préoccupent des différents modes d'expérimenter le réel et d'en rendre compte par les langages audiovisuels.

Les communications devront s'inscrire dans le cadre de l'un des cinq thèmes retenus :

• L'épreuve coloniale et une ethnologie du contemporain
• L'imaginaire est réel, la fiction dit le monde
• Une anthropologie partagée
• Cinéma direct et construction du réel
• Une anthropologie nouvelle, une anthropologie du vivant

Les propositions de communication, sous la forme d'un texterésumé de mille cinq cents signes maximum, accompagné de la fiche d'identification cijointe, ddevront parvenir par internet au Comité du Film Ethnographique avant le 15 octobre 2008. Le programme définitif sera établi le 1° décembre 2008 et les participants retenus devront envoyer leur communication complète (textes et audiovisuels pour une durée maximale de 20 minutes) au plus tard le 31 mai 2009 afin de permettre leur circulation préalable auprès des membres du colloque.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The Comité du Film Ethnographique is organizing a week long international conference to be held in Paris in November 2009. The conference will be held in honor of the scientific and cinematic works of Jean Rouch, its founding father and leader. Our goal is to explore the many research methods and investigations that have been pursued in order to further the field of visual anthropology which Jean Rouch pioneered and initiated. This call for papers is open to filmmakers, critics, teachers, researchers, and students concerned with different ways to experiment with and translate the "real" through various audiovisual languages.

Papers must focus on one of the chosen topics:

• Ethnology, films, and the colonial situation.
• The "real" as imaginary, fiction recounts the world.
• A shared anthropology.
• Direct cinema and the making of the "real".
• A new Anthropology, the anthropology of today.
  

Abstracts of 1500 words maximum can be sent electronically to the Comité du Film Ethnographique, together with the application form, by October 15th 2008. The definitive programme will be set on December 1st, 2008. All accepted participants will be expected to submit a full draft of their paper (text and audiovisual documents for a 20 minutes maximum length) by 31st of May, 2009, to allow their circulation among Conference participants.
